Municipal filings continue in Baxter, Marion, Fulton counties

Eight more candidates seeking municipal offices delivered their petitions to the Baxter County Clerk’s office Thursday.

The eight included the first for the City of Norfork, where incumbent Lovena Kay Gragg filed for the Ward 3, Position 2 seat. In addition, Harry Roderick filed for Ward 1, Position 2, and Ian Vickery for Ward 1, Position 1.

The first candidate filed for a seat on the Big Flat City Council. Incumbent Bill Baze filed for Position 1.

In Cotter, incumbents Mertice Kray filed for the Ward 3, Position 2 seat she hold on the city council, while Andrae Kray filed for recorder/treasurer. In addition, Mark Johnson filed for the Ward 1, Position 2 seat.

At Lakeview, incumbent William Svehla filed for the Ward 3, Position 1 seat on the city council.

In Marion County, one filing was reported.

Charles Kinler filed for Ward 2, Position 1, a seat now held by Lynn Nickels.

In Fulton County, incumbent Marcia Newton filed for Ward 1, Position 2 on
the Salem City Council.

Incumbent Robert Lash filed for Position 4 on the Viola City Council, while Brandi Johnson filed for Position 5.

At Mammoth Spring, Devon Smooth filed for Position 5 on the school board.

The filing period remains open until Wednesday at noon. Election Day is scheduled for Nov. 3.
