LEMAY, Mo. (AP)- The entire fire department in a small south St. Louis County town is under quarantine at home after a firefighter tested positive for COVID-19. The Lemay Fire Protection District sent its 28 employees home as a precaution after the positive test came back Wednesday. The fire district has only one fire house. Jerry Schloss, chairman of the district’s board of directors, said fire houses in surrounding communities are taking calls that Lemay would normally answer. The state on Thursday reported it had confirmed 1,062 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 56,383. The state also has confirmed 1,280 deaths, seven more than reported Wednesday.
