Driver killed in head-on collision, 4 injured

A two-vehicle collision Thursday evening in Fulton County has claimed the life of one of the drivers, while injuring four others.

According to the preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, killed in the crash was 37-year-old Dianne Tyler of Caulfield. Tyler was traveling west on U.S. Highway 62/412 when she crossed the centerline striking a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Ashley Bateman of Horseshoe Bend.

In addition to Bateman, three others were injured–two minor male passenger in Tyler’s vehicle and 61-year-old Tena Smith of Salem traveling with Bateman.

The injured were transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center and Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

While the accident occurred west of Salem, an exact location was not listed on the report.

The weather was clear, and the road was dry at the time of the 8:41 p.m. accident.
