Preparations are underway for the November General Election including determining how candidates will appear on the ballot in Baxter County. The Baxter County Election Commission has two ballot drawings scheduled for August in the second floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse.
The first drawing will be Monday at 9 a.m. for local candidates. The commission will meet an hour later in the office on East Fifth Street to consider strategies to mitigate any negative effect COVID-19 may have on the election.
The second drawing is set for Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. The order of candidates in the presidential, federal government and state government races will be determined.
