Two boil water orders put in place this week in North Central Arkansas by the state Department of Health remain in place.

The most recent order went into effect Friday afternoon for the entire Compton Waterworks system in Newton County. The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) website indicates the boil order is a result of a main break.

Earlier Friday an order was placed on the ADH website for the Mountain View Waterworks system in Stone County. The impacted area is the portion of the system on the south side of Arkansas Highway 66, from Long Avenue west to Industrial Drive, then both sides of the road stopping on the west side of the Mountain View Butcher Shop.

Two days earlier the website indicates a boil order was put in place for the same water system. That notice indicates the impacted area was from Highway 66 on the south side of Long Avenue to Industrial Drive, then along both sides of Long Avenue for seven-tenths of a mile to the west side of the Mountain View Butcher shop, with approximately 50 customers involved.

The orders are a result of construction related to a water line break.

All water customers in the impacted areas need to boil water used for cooking or consumption briskly for three to five minutes.

The boil orders will be in effect until water samples tested by the state are deemed good.
