2 killed in train crash in southeast Missouri’s Bootheel

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – Authorities say two people were killed in a train crash in the Bootheel region of southeast Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victims as 52-year-old Titusan Townsend, of Columbia, and 51-year-old Ricky Tillman, of Kennett. KRCG-TV reports that Townsend failed to yield Friday at a railroad crossing in Pemiscot County and was struck by an oncoming train. The crossing was marked by cross bucks.
