The body of a man discovered last week in Izard County has been identified, according to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office.

The Pacesetting Times reports Chief Deputy Charley Melton identified the man as 36-year-old Paul Beaver of Horseshoe Bend.

“A presumptive positive identification of the man is Paul Beaver,” Melton says. “We’re awaiting formal DNA test results, but he has been released to his family.”

The body was discovered by a city employee Wednesday afternoon near the sewer treatment plant on North Bend Drive.

Melton says Beaver had been riding a four-wheeler in the area on Monday, and his body was found within 100 yards of the ATV, with no foul play suspected.

The body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification and cause of death.
