Mountain Home School Board approves budget, back-to-school guidelines

The Mountain Home School Board approved the 2020-2021 budget during its regular August meeting Thursday night. The budget totals over $40 million with just over $16 million in teacher salaries, according to superintendent Dr. Jake Long.

The board also approved several items for the Safe Start to School initiative.

In other items, the board approved a 35-cent increase to adult meals at the schools, which takes the price to $3.85 and the members heard an update on the junior high roof, which has several areas that are failing. The early estimates indicate it will take about $2 million to complete the project.
