Four local students were honored when the Honors College at Arkansas State University hosted the 11th annual Honors Recognition Reception earlier this month.

During the afternoon each graduate from Summer 2020, Spring 2020, Winter 2019 and Summer 2019 had a privately scheduled ceremony. A group of 160 graduating honors students were recognized individually in the company of their parents, families, guests and university dignitaries.

Students ‘Graduating in Honors’ have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours in honors coursework and are graduating with a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average. This distinction is recognized on their diplomas and their academic transcripts.

Three local students were among those who also receive a silver honors medallion and recognition certificate. The three are Trisha Davis of Mammoth Spring, Timi Killian of Pineville and Spencer Politte of Bull Shoals.

Those earning an honors certificate have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours in honors coursework and are graduating with a 3.00 or higher cumulative grade point average. These students were presented with a certificate in recognition of their accomplishment. Locally, Tanner Ezell of Norfork was among those receiving an honors certificate.
