A Gainesville teen is facing felony charges of burglary, stealing and tampering with a motor vehicle in both Ozark and Douglas counties.

Online court records indicate bond for 18-year-old Dalton Ray Woodward was set at $20,000 in Douglas County and $15,000 in Ozark County.

The Ozark County Times reports Woodward was arrested Aug. 17 in connection with allegations he stole a UTV, several tools and other items from a building along Wallace Ranch Road in Theodosia.

According to the probable cause statement, the owner of the building told law enforcement sometime between Aug. 12 and Aug. 13 the glass front door to his shop building had been broken, someone had entered the structure and several items were taken. The items included a utility vehicle, two mig welders and tools.

On Aug. 14, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office contacted Ozark County law enforcement advising information indicated items missing from the Theodosia shop building were being stored in an SUV Woodward was driving. Douglas County officials advised the vehicle may have been parked at a residence off County Road 620 in Isabella.

A person at the Isabella residence told Ozark County authorities he had purchased the SUV from Woodward the night before for $700. The individual reportedly gave law enforcement permission to inspect the SUV.

Inside the vehicle were two mig welders and several tools in open view of the hatch window. Further inspection revealed a grinder, drill, five gallons of brazing rod, a pipe-threading tool, a tote with a corded grinder, caliper tools and a nail gun.

The owner of the items was able to identify them as the ones taken from his shop building.
