A Baxter County woman has been arrested after shooting at her husband Monday evening. Fifty-five-year-old Skyla Harris Johnson is facing one felony charge in connection with the incident.

According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, when deputies arrived, Johnson and her husband were on the front porch of their residence on County Road 18 in the Oakland area. Her husband advised the two had gotten into a fight, and she grabbed a gun and ran to a bedroom, locking herself in.

Fearing for his wife’s safety, the husband forced his way into the bedroom, at which point Johnson allegedly fired the gun in his direction striking the wall next to him. The two were only about 3 feet apart, when the shot was fired.

Johnson is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault on a family or household member. Her bond is set at $15,000.
