A Boone County man, 54-year-old Shawn Holst of Harrison, made his first appearance in circuit court last week on two felony counts of second-degree sexual assault.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Boone County sheriff’s officer was conducting an investigation involving child pornography.
During the course of the investigation, he discovered a 5-year-old female may have been a victim and was interviewed at Grandma’s House Children’s Advocacy Center.
Holst was interviewed later the same day and allegedly admitted having touched the victim inappropriately.
The affidavit notes Holst is a Level 2 sex offender.
His bond was set at $75,000, with the condition that he have no contact with the alleged victim, her family and no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.
