Marshall High School switches to virtual-only learning due to COVID-19

Arkansas Secretary of Education Johnny Key announced Marshall High School in the Searcy County School District is one of two districts in the state switching to virtual-only learning due to coronavirus and COVID-19 concerns.
Key announced Marshall High School, along with Cross County High School in Cherry Valley, are making the switch temporarily. Secretary Key discusses the reason for the switch.

In the Searcy County School District, operations will continue as normal at Marshall Elementary School and the Leslie Intermediate School campuses.

On Aug. 21, the district announced via its website that two staff members and one student in the district tested positive for COVID-19. Those individuals, along with anyone who was in contact with them, were directed to quarantine, as required by applicable guidelines.

The district also announced it would “have no further comment at this time due to the confidentiality requirements imposed by applicable state and federal laws.”
