A female was killed, and a male was injured Saturday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Fulton County. Eighty-two-year-old Shirley Bonewits of Ash Flat was pronounced dead at the scene, and 81-year-old James Bonewits of Ash Flat was transported to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
According to the Arkansas State Police, James Bonewits was the driver of a vehicle traveling on U.S. Highway 62/412, and Shirley Bonewits was his passenger. They were approximately 3 miles east of Salem when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence.
The road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear in the 10:23 a.m. accident.
