Izard County Tax Collector Paul Womack has announced the closure of the collector’s and assessor’s offices to the general public due to COVID-19 cases. The closure will continue until at least Sept. 30. According to Womack’s statement issued via the collector’s Facebook page, employees of the offices will “still do everything in our power to serve each citizen in Izard County.” He adds the lobby will be open, and payments will be accepted from the doors, using proper distancing.

Payments for taxes may be made via e-check or credit cards at izardcountyar.org, but processing fees will apply. Payments may also be made via telephone. Womack reminds residents the offices have a drop box just outside the door, and checks or money orders are still accepted by mail at P.O. Box 349, Melbourne, AR 72556.”We appreciate your patience and prayers as we are dealing with this unfortunate situation,” Womack says.

Anyone with questions may contact the Izard County Assessor’s Office at 870-368-7810 or the collector’s office 870-368-7247 for tax payment assistance.
