Mountain Home cross country teams dominate Bomber Invite

Despite holding back their top eight boys and top 6 girls who will compete in a race in Memphis Saturday, the Mountain Home High School cross country teams still managed to win the Bomber Invite #1 Thursday afternoon on their home course. (The complete results are shown below)

The Bombers placed four runners in the top 10 to easily defeat second place Greers Ferry Westside. Aidan Sanders was third, Darren Blount finished fourth, Alex Hester was eighth, and Riley Rowden finished ninth.

Izard County was fourth in the team standings, led by Chase Orf who finished seventh.

Viola was fifth overall. Kohl Batterton paced the Longhorns with a 14th place finish.

On the girls’ side, Mountain Home finished 26 points ahead of second place Greers Ferry Westside with three runners in the top 10. McKenzi Clark finished fifth, Kamryn Mullin was seventh, and Britney Jenkins was eighth.

Izard County was third in the team standings, led by the third-place finish of Ashlyn Billingsley.

In the junior boys’ race, Mountain Home won the team event with Mountain View second. The Junior Bombers put three runners in the top 10 with Ryan Amick in third, William Hill was fifth, and Gus Wilber was sixth.

Mountain View’s Jack Newton finished first, and Ryder Scribner was second.

Viola finished fifth in the team standings, as Ryan Stone led the way with a fourth-place finish.

Izard County was sixth. Keaton Melton finished 15th to pace the Junior Cougars.

In the junior girls’ race, Harrison finished first with Mountain Home second. The Junior Lady Bombers were led by Bailey Rittenburg in fourth place and Jayla Yonkers in sixth.

Viola finished fourth in the team standings. Rylee White was their top finisher in 19th place.
