ST. LOUIS (AP) – St. Louis authorities are looking for a man who allegedly shot and killed a woman after a minor traffic accident over the weekend that did not involve him.

Deion Whalen, 23, of Riverview, was charged Sunday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of VIctoria McBee, 34.

Whalen “poses an immediate danger to the victim’s family, and the community at large,” police said Monday.

Charging documents say a relative of McBee’s and another person were in a minor car accident Saturday when Whalen, who was not involved in the crash, approached the scene and threatened McBee’s relatives with a rifle, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

McBee “attempted to de-escalate the situation before finally pushing the defendant,” prompting Whalen to shoot her at point-blank range, according to charging documents.

Whalen has pending drug charges from last year in St. Louis Circuit Court and received probation in a 2016 drug case.
