While cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in the Twin Lakes Area, the Mountain Home School District is updating its procedures for students attending athletic events. Beginning Thursday, students in kindergarten through ninth grade will be required to be accompanied by and sit with a parent or guardian during all sporting events on campus.

Mountain Home Superintendent Dr. Jake Long says during this unusual time, the district’s goal is to give its student athletes the opportunity to complete their seasons in a safe manner.

All sophomores, juniors, seniors and student athletes in seventh through ninth grades with fall athletic passes may attend games without a parent or guardian and should sit in the designated student section. At Bomber Stadium, the student section is located on the track between the home bleachers and the scoreboard. Students sitting in this area are invited to bring lawn chairs and are required to practice social distancing.

Dr. Long says the district will have similar procedures for Bomber Gymnasium.

In addition, extra vouchers for football games are no longer available at the gates on game night. Spectators, including teachers, arriving at the stadium without a voucher will not be permitted to enter. Vouchers are available at the Mountain Home High School Athletic Office through Thursday at 4 p.m. Those with fall student athletic passes or Arkansas Activities Association passes will be permitted without vouchers. Masks are required for all spectators in third grade and up, and they must be worn at all times.
