MH boys finish tied for 6th in state golf tourney; El Dorado wins title

The Mountain Home High School boys’ golf team wrapped up its season Monday at Big Creek Golf and Country Club. The Bombers hosted the Class 5A State Tournament and ended up in a tie for sixth place with Siloam Springs, after both teams had a total of 363.

El Dorado ended up with the state championship at 329. Searcy beat Greenwood in a playoff for second place, after both teams ended up two strokes back. Hot Springs Lakeside ended up fourth, and Jonesboro rounded out the top five.

Simon McBride of Paragould was the individual medalist with a one-under-par 71. Mountain Home’s top golfer was Gaige Chaney, as he took fourth place with an 80. Also for the Bombers, Rip Finley ended up tied for 31st with a 91, Weston Hoover finished in a three-way tie for 34th with a 93, Will Beckham was 47th with a 99, and Duncan Conly took 48th place with a 100.
