Arvest Bank and Shred-It will host a free shred-a-thon for the Mountain Home community Saturday morning from 9 until noon to benefit the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Foundation. The event will be held at the Arvest Bank branch located at 2619 U.S. Highway 62 East, by Walmart.The complimentary shredding event provides a convenient opportunity for residents to drop off personal and confidential documents to be destroyed by Shred-It on-site, helping protect against the risk of identity theft. The shredded paper is recycled, supporting sustainability efforts in North Central Arkansas.There is no charge for the shredding services, but donations to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Foundation will be accepted. The funds will be used to support the county’s reserve deputies.Arvest will be looking to serve as many participants as possible and keep contact to a minimum as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Residents are asked to place up to five boxes of documents in their vehicles’ trunks or hatchbacks, remain in their vehicles and follow traffic direction as they drive through.
