The Mountain Home Junior High football team roughed up El Dorado 40-16 Thursday night in Little Rock to stay unbeaten on the season at 8-0.

Cade Yates led the offense by going 13 of 16 through the air for 233 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 32 yards and another score. Landon White paced the receiving corps with 69 yards and a touchdown, Drew Lamey had 62 receiving yards, and Ryder McLain finished with 44 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, William Cottengim had 13 carries for 103 yards and three touchdowns, and White added 48 rushing yards.

Defensively, Cottengim finished with eight tackles, Robert Dover had four tackles and a blocked punt, and Asher Adams picked off a pass.

Head coach Greg Crow says, “Really proud of our kids, long bus ride and coming out to play, we struggled some early in the game on offense, but it sure wasn’t from a lack of effort. Give a lot of credit to El Dorado, they came out and did some good things, and it took us awhile to get our bearings. I thought Cade Yates was tremendous, he had some people in his face and made some great throws. We had some wide receivers make unreal players, Drew Lamey and Landon White going up and getting the ball. Just a great team effort by everyone. Super excited for our defense, we gave up one big play the whole night, and it was basically a fluke, the kids executed what they were coached to do, it was awesome to see. No time to rest, we got to get back to work next week and figure out how to win this last football game.”

The Junior Bombers wrap up the season next Thursday at Booneville.
