Cotter High School teams beat Kingston; Norfork gets swept by Valley Springs

The Cotter High School basketball teams were able to sweep Kingston at home Tuesday.
The Warriors edged out the Yellowjackets 45-42 in the varsity boys’ game. Hudson Adams led Cotter with 16 points, Hayden Hutson scored 12, and Jeffry Haynes added 10. The Warriors improve to 3-1 on the season.
Cotter also took the varsity girls’ contest 42-39 over Kingston. The Lady Warriors were led by Kate Cheek with 15 points.
Cotter dominated the junior varsity girls’ game 33-14. Kaitlyn Benedict was the JV Lady Warriors’ top scorer with 12 points.
Cotter will host Calico Rock on Thursday.

Norfork’s high school teams were swept on their home floor by Valley Springs. The girls’ game ended with the Lady Panthers falling to the Lady Tigers 56-42. Norfork also fell to Valley Springs 69-41 in the boys’ contest.

Flippin was able to pick up a three-game sweep at Jasper.
The Bobcats topped the Pirates 54-43 in the senior boys’ game. Devin Payne led Flippin with 16 points. The Bobcats are now 3-1 on the year.
The senior girls’ game went down to the wire. Flippin edged out Jasper 56-53, after the Lady Pirates missed a game-tying three-point attempt.
The evening began with the junior boys’ contest as Flippin beat Jasper 47-32.

The Ozark Mountain High School teams had mixed results, as they went to South Side-Bee Branch. In the boys’ game, the Bears squeaked by the Hornets 68-67. Ozark Mountain did not fare as well in the girls’ contest losing to South Side 56-53.

Lead Hill’s high school squads had a rough Pink Out Night, as they were swept by Bergman. The boys’ game finished with the Tigers losing to the Panthers 82-63. The night wasn’t any better for the Lead Hill girls, as they fell to Bergman 78-19.
