Cotter becomes the second local school district in less than 24 hours to announce classrooms will be closed to a portion of its student population. A Saturday post on the district’s Facebook says freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors will pivot to remote learning beginning Monday and continuing through Nov. 20.

The decision was reportedly made due to the number of students and staff in quarantine. According to the district, learning zones will be available on Cotter’s campus for those not in quarantine but needing access to internet service, assistance with lessons, meals and supervision.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grade will continue with on-site instruction. Buses will continue to run as normal.
