A former Dora High School standout athlete made his commitment to play on the collegiate level official on Wednesday. Missouri State University announced Isaac Haney, currently enrolled as a senior at Kickapoo High School in Springfield, signed a national letter of intent to join the Bears’ men’s basketball program.

Haney was a two-time Class 1 player of the year at Dora. In March, he helped lead the Falcons to the state championship and a 32-2 record for the season.

As a junior, Haney averaged 31 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He shot 53% from the field, 37% behind the arc and 82% at the free throw line. Powered by his 1,055 points, he finished the season with All-Conference, All-District and All-State honors for the third consecutive season.

In the athletic honors, Haney earned All-District honors in quiz bowl and was Dora’s Beta Club president and math relays champion.
