A Pineville man was arrested after drugs were found during the course of a traffic stop on Nov. 1.

According to a press release from the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year old Brad Edmonston was stopped by an Arkansas State Police trooper for expired tags.

A consensual search of the driver’s person revealed a plastic baggie containing a white substance field testing positive for methamphetamine.

While being taken into custody, Edmonston resisted briefly and kicked the arresting officer in the legs. The driver was ultimately charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor.

Edmonston’s bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in the Izard County Circuit Court on Nov. 17.
