MH Christian wins 2 of 3 over Faulkner Co.; Flippin boys top Lead Hill

Mountain Home Christian Academy picked up two wins hostng three boys’ games against Faulkner County.
The Eagles beat up on the Falcons 93-36 in the varsity game. Trenton Cox led Mountain Home Christian with 28 points, Gideon Spray scored 26, Jordan Woods had 23, and Zack Van Patten added 10 points.
Mountain Home Christian also won the 14-and-under contest 53-38 over Faulkner County. Gabe Spray ended up with 19 points for the 14-and-under Eagles, and Dawson Bingham came away with 10.
It was a different result in the 12-and-under game, as Mountain Home Christian lost to Faulkner County 43-27. Kaleb Towery finished with 12 points for the 12-and-under Eagles, and Evan Palella scored 10.

The Flippin High School boys’ basketball team had a good night on the home floor defeating Lead Hill 50-34. The Bobcats were led by Roy Dale Smyser with 23 points. Jonathan Fulton scored 12 points for the Tigers. Flippin improves to 4-3 on the season, and Lead Hill falls to 6-2.

Ozark Mountain’s high school teams had mixed results, as they went to Fox and played Rural Special. The Bears took the boys’ game over the Rebels 70-27. Ozark Mountain did not fare as well in the girls’ contest falling to Rural Special 54-43.

The Viola High School teams picked up a pair of easy wins at Pangburn. The Longhorns invoked the mercy rule in the boys’ game, as they routed the Tigers 64-27. Viola’s girls also breezed past Pangburn 72-41.

The Calico Rock High School boys suffered a heartbreaking loss on the road. In a battle between Pirates, Calico Rock was edged out by Concord 68-67.

Mammoth Spring came away with a pair of high school basketball wins.
In boys’ action, the Bears squeaked by Melbourne 51-48. Aidan Burns was Mammoth Spring’s top scorer with 23 points, and Cole Young added 18.
Mammoth Spring’s girls picked up a dominating 58-30 victory over Maynard. Megyn Upton paced the Lady Bears with 18 points and 14 rebounds, Chevelle Graves scored 14 points, and Sara Crowe chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Mammoth Spring’s next scheduled outing with Hillcrest has been postponed.

Bergman’s boys had a good road trip to Greers Ferry and beat West Side 68-42. The Panthers were led by Walker Patton with 22 points, Elijah Royce scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Anthony Hodge had 10 points.
