The boys’ game ended with the Bombers falling to the Bulldogs 60-51. Mountain Home had the lead for much of the first half. Late in the second quarter, Fayetteville went on top for the first time since leading 1-0 and went into the locker room up one. The Purple Dogs took advantage of 17 Bomber turnovers to build a double-digit lead in the second half. Mountain Home cut the margin back to four, but Fayetteville pulled away for a nine-point victory.

Wyatt Gilbert, Mat Jones and Luke Proctor led the Bombers with 14 points each. For the Purple Dogs, C.J. Williams scored 19 points, and Landon Glasper added 14.

Fayetteville improves to 1-1 on the season. Mountain Home drops to 0-2, and its next game will be Dec. 1 when the Bombers host Paragould for their home opener.

The night wasn’t any better for the Lady Bombers, as they lost to the Lady Bulldogs 60-39. The game was kept fairly close early on as Fayetteville was up four at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs outscored Mountain Home 15-4 in the second period. Fayetteville pulled further away in the second half and eventually went on to win by 21.

The Lady Bombers were led by Addison Yates with 15 points. Claudia Bridges had 21 points for the Lady Bulldogs, Jayla Johnson finished with 14, and Allison Byars chipped in 11.
