MH woman now faces murder charge in shooting incident

The charges against 21-year-old Savannah Nicole Wren of Mountain Home have been upgraded from attempted murder to second-degree murder, after a shooting victim succumbed to his injuries in a Little Rock hospital.

According to a statement from the Mountain Home Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at a local apartment complex around 2:45 Tuesday morning. The victim was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center, then to a Little Rock hospital. On Thursday, Mountain Home police were notified the victim had died from the injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Wren was taken into custody with a $150,000 bond. Following the death of the victim, the charge was raised to second-degree murder, a Class A felony, and the bond was increased to $500,000.

Wren remains in the Baxter County Detention Center awaiting her initial court appearance.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Arkansas State Police is assisting in the investigation.
