Bull Shoals teen identified as fatal shooting victim

The victim of a fatal shooting Tuesday in Mountain Home has been identified as a Bull Shoals teen. Nineteen-year-old Chaseton Lewter reportedly died at a Little Rock hospital, and 21-year-old Savannah Nicole Wren of Mountain Home is in the Baxter County Detention Center on a felony count of second-degree murder.

According to the Mountain Home Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at a local apartment complex around 2:45 Tuesday morning. Lewter was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center and later to Little Rock. Mountain Home authorities were notified Thursday morning Lewter had succumbed to his injuries.

Wren was originally taken into custody Tuesday morning on an attempted murder charge, with bond set at $150,000. Since Lewter’s death, the charge was elevated to murder, and the bond was raised to $500,000.

Wren remains jailed, as she awaits her initial court appearance. The Mountain Home Police Department is being assisted in the investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
