MH freshmen girls rout West Memphis West; Cotter High School teams pick up sweep

The Mountain Home freshmen girls’ basketball team had a dominating night at home. The Junior Lady Bombers invoked the mercy rule on Monday, as they routed West Memphis West 42-11. Ashlyn Estes led Mountain Home with 10 points. The Junior Lady Bombers remain unbeaten in four games on the season, and they’ll travel to Jonesboro on Thursday to meet Nettleton.

The Cotter High School teams swept Life Way Christian in a battle between Warriors.
Cotter took the boys’ game by a final of 47-29. Cotter was led by Hayden Hutson with 16 points, Hudson Adams scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Justin Martin added 12 rebounds.
Cotter also won the girls’ contest over Life Way Christian 53-35. Kate Cheek was Cotter’s top scorer with 23 points, and Hailey Cunningham chipped in 10.

Calico Rock’s girls had a tough night on the road. In a battle between Lady Pirates, Calico Rock fell to Concord 36-29.

The Lead Hill High School teams went on the road and swept Green Forest. The boys’ game ended with Lead Hill edging out Green Forest 50-47. Lead Hill also squeaked by Green Forest 34-33 in the girls’ contest.
