A day after the Mountain Home High School boys’ basketball team invoked the mercy rule on Paragould, their female counterparts did the same to Springdale. The Lady Bombers wrapped up their two-game home stand by beating up on the Lady Bulldogs 52-20 for their first win of the season.

Springdale had the first lead at 2-0, but Mountain Home took over from there. The Lady Bombers outscored the Lady Bulldogs 20-6 in the second quarter to take a 22-point lead into the locker room. Mountain Home continued to hold Springdale to long scoring droughts in the second half, and the turbo clock went into effect the moment the final quarter started.

Kate Gilbert led the Lady Bombers with 20 points, and Addison Yates added 13. No one was in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs.

Springdale falls to 1-5 on the year. Mountain Home improves to 1-2 and will travel to Batesville on Friday.
