Bentonville girls hit 12 3s in win over Mountain Home

When the Mountain Home girls lost to Bentonville in November, the Lady Tigers hit 13 three-pointers. In Tuesday’s rematch, Bentonville picked up right where it left off. Matt Sharp has the details.

The Lady Tigers hit 12 shots from behind the arc on their home floor en route to beating the Lady Bombers 67-35. Bentonville outscored Mountain Home 22-4 in the opening quarter. The Lady Tigers’ scoring slowed up in the first part of the second period, but they did put up another 15 before halftime. Bentonville later scored 24 additional points in the third quarter, and the mercy rule was in effect to start the last period.

Kate Gilbert led the Lady Bombers with 13 points. For the Lady Tigers, Jada Brown scored 20, Maryam Dauda had 14, Gracie Eaves finished with 11, and Riley Hayes added 10 points.

Bentonville improves to 4-1 on the season. Mountain Home falls to 1-4, and they’ll travel to Cabot on Saturday.
