A male teen found dead following a shooting incident Friday night in West Plains has been identified. According to the West Plains Police Department, the victim is 18-year-old Christian Gabriel Lee Smedley-Atterberry, and his next of kin has been notified.
Officers responded at 11:32 to a report of shots fired and someone with a possible gunshot wound on Seventh Street. Upon arrival, they located Smedley-Atterberry dead from an apparent gunshot wound to his head.
The shooting remains under investigation, but authorities are confident in saying there is no danger to the community regarding the incident.
