Almost two years after unveiling its urgent health care app, Baxter Regional Medical Center announced it will be discontinued. The Baxter Regional CARE App, available on iOS and Android phones and tablets, will no longer be accessible as of Thursday, but alternative telehealth options will remain available through clinics and their providers.
According to the hospital, the decision to discontinue the app comes as telehealth visits began rising due to COVID-19, and usage of the urgent care app declined. Several local providers are reportedly offering the ability to schedule telehealth visits through their individual clinics and practices, and this model is a more efficient way for Baxter Regional to offer telehealth services to better serve the community.
