Norfork School District returns to virtual learning for 1st week of 2021

As students around the Twin Lakes Area return to classes this week, one local district will be utilizing virtual learning only for this week. Norfork School District Superintendent Chip Layne posted on the school’s Facebook COVID-19 has become worse in the area and has impacted several district faculty over the holiday period.

According to the announcement, the virtual period will be Monday through Friday from 10 to 3 each day. The district is planning to reopen classrooms for on-site instruction on Jan. 11.

The pandemic is also effecting the district’s extracurricular activities including basketball, bowling and quiz bowl. All teams will compete in conference games or contests necessary to stay eligible for postseason competitions. An updated scheduled will be provided by the child’s coach or sponsor as soon as possible.
