Expansion is tentatively set to be completed this month on an expansion of Berryville gunmaker Wilson Combat. The facility is set to grow by 16,000 square feet and is expected to increase its workforce by 20%.

Wilson Combat made the announcement of the expansion last month, saying it was needed to meet the future firearms and accessory needs of its customer base.

The new space is destined to house new automated machinery and grinding centers to enhance production, increase overall quality and improve delivery times.

Wilson Combat currently has 93,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space for its 200-plus team members

Headquartered in Berryville since 1977, Wilson Combat manufactures handguns, rifles and shotguns, as well as firearm accessories and ammunition.

According to its website, Bill Wilson has always been infatuated with guns. Originally trained as a watchmaker, Wilson has been in the firearms industry since 1974, starting out with a retail store in Berryville.
