Twin Lakes Area could see light snowfall, heavy snow possible in Ozark mountains


A winter weather system moving through Arkansas Wednesday night into Thursday morning could bring light snowfall to the Twin Lakes Area and accumulations up to 6 inches in the upper Ozark Mountains. Meteorologist Dylan Cooper with the National Weather Service in North Little Rock says precipitation will begin on Wednesday afternoon.

Significant accumulations are only expected in parts of Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton and Searcy counties, which are under a winter storm warning.

Baxter, Marion, Stone counties are under a winter weather advisory, which means no more than 3 inches of snow accumulation is likely, and travel impacts are possible.
