Portions of the Twin Lakes Area are experiencing winter weather Thursday, as some local schools have called off on-site instruction and have switched to digital learning only. A winter weather advisory is in effect for Baxter, Marion and Stone counties in North Central Arkansas until 6 p.m. and for Southern Missouri until 3. In addition, a winter storm warning is in effect for Searcy, Boone and Newton counties until 6 p.m.

Meteorologist Thomas Jones of the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock says some areas are already seeing a mixture of rain and snow.
