Friday basketball results include Flippin boys topping Eureka Springs

The Flippin High School boys’ basketball team was able to pick up a win on the road on Friday. The Bobcats defeated Eureka Springs by a final of 60-41.

Yellville-Summit swept a pair of boys’ games over Life Way Christian.
The senior high game ended with the Panthers edging out the Warriors 47-46. David Derosier was Yellville-Summit’s top scorer with 22 points, and Holiday Derosier added 13.
Yellville-Summit also took the junior high contest over Life Way Christian 28-19. Hunter Raley paced the Junior Panthers with 13 points.

Gainesville’s boys had a successful road trip on Friday. The Bulldogs beat Conway by a score of 52-45.

The Gainesville girls had a rough outing, as they competed in the semifinals of the Sparta Lady Trojan Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs lost to the host Lady Trojans 69-17.

Dora’s boys lost a close game on their home floor. The Falcons were edged out by Licking 67-65.

Viola swept its high school games at home over Lead Hill. The Longhorns won the boys’ game over the Tigers 95-55. Viola also took the girls’ contest 52-23.

Salem’s high school teams dominated their games over Midland. The Lady Greyhounds invoked the mercy rule pounding the Lady Mustangs 61-14. Salem later won the boys’ game over Midland 47-29.

Izard County was able to pick up a three-game sweep at Concord.
The senior boys’ game ended with the Cougars beating the Pirates 70-50. Izard County was led by Gunner Gleghorn with 22 points, Caleb Faulkner ended up with 17, and Chase Orf chipped in 12. The Cougars improve to 13-4 on the season and 6-2 in the 1A-2.
The senior girls’ contest required an overtime period, but Izard County came out on top 38-32 over Concord. Ava Lewis was the Lady Cougars’ leading scorer with 14 points.
Izard County’s junior girls came from behind, and Makenzie Yancey hit a layup with 18 seconds left to push them past Concord 29-26. Quinn Johnson led the Junior Lady Cougars with 11 points.

Both Mammoth Spring High School teams put the mercy rule in effect on their way to sweeping Armorel.
The Bears routed the Tigers 72-39 in the boys’ game. Mammoth Spring was led by Aidan Burns with 25 points, Logan Doss scored 14, Cole Young had 12, and Zack Flynn proved 10 points. The Bears are now 14-6 overall and 4-1 in the 1A-3.
Mammoth Spring also beat up on Armorel 59-21 in the girls’ contest. Sara Crowe and Chevelle Graves were the Lady Bears’ top scorers with 14 points, Shelby VanGinhoven finished with 12, and Megyn Upton ended up with 11.
Both Mammoth Spring teams will host Maynard on Tuesday.

The Melbourne boys had a good night at Imboden. The Bearkatz beat Sloan-Hendrix 48-37.

Mountain View had mixed results at Clinton in a battle between Yellowjackets. Mountain View won the girls’ game 55-39. The boys’ contest had a different result, as they fell to Clinton 56-36.

Bergman’s boys were able to notch another conference win at home. The Panthers defeated Green Forest 70-49.

Valley Springs was able to sweep a pair of high school games at Cedarville. The Tigers won the boys’ game 49-43 over the Pirates. The girls’ contest was more lopsided, as Valley Springs breezed past Cedarville 55-35.

Jasper had a rough night being swept at Kingston. In the boys’ game, the Pirates fell to the Yellowjackets 58-51. Jasper also lost the girls’ contest 72-59 to Kingston.
