The Mountain Home High School basketball teams came away with a split on Friday at Siloam Springs.

The Bomber boys came from behind to force overtime and went on to beat the Panthers 53-47. After Mountain Home went up 4-2, Siloam Springs followed with a 10-0 run. For much of regulation, the Panthers had the advantage, which got into double digits in the third quarter. But the Bombers forced Siloam Springs into 21 turnovers, allowing them to claw their way back. Jake McGehee hit a three in the corner with less than two minutes left to tie the game at 43, and that would force the extra period. Mountain Home struck first in overtime for the second and final lead change of the night. The Panthers were held to a couple of layups, and the Bombers later posted the six-point win.
Wyatt Gilbert led Mountain Home with 22 points, and McGehee added 12. For Siloam Springs, Landon Ward scored 15 points, and Jackson Ford had 11.
The Bombers improve to 5-6 on the season and 1-1 in the 5A-West. The Panthers fall to 7-7 and 1-1.

Mountain Home did not fare as well in the girls’ contest falling to Siloam Springs 57-31. The game was close throughout the first half, as the two teams had four ties and five lead changes. The Lady Panthers were up three at the break, but they outscored the Lady Bombers 20-5 in the third quarter, as Sydney Moorman hit three three-pointers in the period. Siloam Springs pulled further away in the final quarter and went on to win by 26.
Mountain Home was led by Kate Gilbert with 14 points, and Addison Yates chipped in 11. Moorman ended up with 17 points for the Lady Panthers, and Reina Tiefel finished with 12.
The Lady Bombers drop to 2-11 overall and 1-1 in the league. Siloam Springs is now 9-3 and 1-1.

The run of four straight road trips will come to an end Tuesday for Mountain Home when they head to Vilonia.
