Tuesday basketball schedule includes MHHS at Vilonia

Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule, as both Mountain Home High School teams will wrap up their run of four straight road trips. Conference play continues for the Bombers and Lady Bombers at Vilonia.
The boys will take the court first, as Mountain Home is 5-6 on the season and 1-1 in the 5A-West. The Bombers picked up a six-point overtime win Friday at Siloam Springs. Vilonia is 8-3 and 1-1. The Eagles are coming off an easy win over Alma.
Mountain Home’s girls are 2-11 on the year and 1-1 in the league. The Lady Bombers suffered a loss at Siloam Springs four nights ago. Vilonia is ranked eighth overall and fourth in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Lady Eagles are 12-1 and 2-0 after beating up on Alma on Friday.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 5A-West, Greenbrier travels to Russellville, Siloam Springs hosts Alma, and Van Buren entertains Greenwood.

In other high school action, Cotter makes the trip to Centerton to take on Life Way Christian, Norfork is home against Greers Ferry West Side, Flippin hosts the Arkansas Arts Academy, Yellville-Summit entertains Eureka Springs for two boys’ games, Ozark Mountain heads to Kingston, Bakersfield is home against Mountain Grove Christian, Gainesville’s boys travel to Sparta, Viola hosts Concord, Salem entertains White County Central, Calico Rock is home against Timbo, Izard County hosts Marmaduke for two girls’ games, Mammoth Spring entertains Maynard, Marshall makes the trip to Bigelow, Mountain View is home against Cave City, Rural Special heads to Shirley, Lead Hill hosts Omaha, Bergman travels to Greenland, Valley Springs entertains Elkins, and Jasper is home against Mulberry.

Both of Mountain Home’s seventh grade teams will be back on the road for the second consecutive night, as they face Melbourne. The girls’ game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the boys’ contest.
