Thursday basketball results include MHCA boys sweeping Ozarks Christian

Mountain Home Christian Academy was able to pick up a pair of boys’ basketball wins over Ozarks Christian Academy at West Plains.
The Eagles took the varsity game 64-43. Trenton Cox led Mountain Home Christian with 21 points, and Stone Robinson added 17.
Mountain Home Christian also beat Ozarks Christian 52-31 in the 14-and-under contest. The 14-and-under Eagles were led by Gabe Spray with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Cory Jines had 12 points, and Dawson Bingham chipped in 10 points.

The Gainesville High School girls were able to pick up another home win on Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Dora 63-56.

Salem’s boys had a rough outing at Newark. The Greyhounds fell to Cedar Ridge by a final of 52-41.

Izard County had a successful road trip picking up a four-game sweep at Lead Hill.
The Cougars took the senior boys’ game over the Tigers 76-40. Chase Orf was Izard County’s top scorer with 24 points, Caleb Faulkner finished with 16, and Gunner Gleghorn ended up with 13.
Izard County also won the senior girls’ contest over Lead Hill 48-32. Ava Lewis paced the Lady Cougars with 21 points, and Cassidy Coleman added 12.
The junior boys’ game also went to Izard County, as they topped Lead Hill 45-39. The Junior Cougars were led by Clifton Pate with 17 points.
The evening began with the junior girls’ game, as Izard County got past Lead Hill 47-39. Quinn Johnson was the Junior Lady Cougars’ leading scorer with 27 points.

Mammoth Spring went across the state line and grabbed a pair of dominating victories at Koshkonong.
The Bears invoked the mercy rule in the boys’ game, as they routed the Blue Jays 89-56. Cole Young led Mammoth Spring with 19 points, Aysa Walsh and Nate Rogers each scored 15, and Aidan Burns and Zack Flynn added 14 each. The Bears improve to 15-6 on the season.
Mammoth Spring also breezed past Koshkonong 73-48 in the girls’ contest. The Lady Bears were led by Sara Crowe with 21 points, Megyn Upton had 21, and Chevelle Graves chipped in 19. Mammoth Spring is now 8-8 on the year.

The Valley Springs High School teams went on the road and swept West Fork in a battle between Tigers. Valley Springs’ boys put the mercy rule in effect, as they pounded West Fork 61-30. Valley Springs also won the girls’ contest 48-33.
