The girls’ game ended with the Lady Bombers falling to the Lady Cyclones 47-31. Early on, the two teams exchanged the lead twice and had three ties, but Russellville ended the first quarter with an eight-point lead. The two teams played fairly even for the next two quarters. Mountain Home began the final period trailing by 10, but the offense struggled from there, and the Lady Cyclones went on to win by 16.
Kate Gilbert led the Lady Bombers with 11 points. For Russellville, Jaidyn Koerdt scored 22 points, and Sara Velazquez added 10.
Mountain Home falls to 2-13 on the season and 1-3 in the 5A-West. The Lady Cyclones improve to 8-5 and 2-0.

The Bomber boys did not fare any better, as they lost to Russellville 58-46. The Cyclones’ lead was two at the end of the opening quarter, but as the game went on, Russellville slowly inched further away from Mountain Home. The Bombers’ defense did not have an answer for point guard Donyae May. He consistently drove to the paint for either layups or the short jumper on the way to leading the Cyclones to the 12-point victory.
Mountain Home was led by Luke Proctor with 15 points, Wyatt Gilbert had 11, and Reed Ellison chipped in 10. May finished with a season high 30 points for Russellville, and Grayson Sims ended up with 11.
The Bombers drop to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in the league. The Cyclones are now 11-3 and 5-0.

Mountain Home will return to the road on Friday heading to Greenwood.

In other 5A-West boys’ action, Vilonia defeated Greenbrier 67-52, and Greenwood edged out Siloam Springs 53-50. On the girls’ side, Vilonia routed Greenbrier 70-38, and Greenwood pounded Siloam Springs 79-38.
