Arkansas’ COVID-19 new cases drop significantly over last week

Arkansas’ COVID-19 new cases decreased by nearly 1,000 Friday compared to the same day last week.Gov. Asa Hutchinson says over 16,500 tests were administered Thursday. He says, “If we can keep our new cases on the decline, then our deaths will reduce as well, and this is one goal we can all unite behind.”

In its update Friday, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 2,162 new cases; 20,107 active cases; 1,142 hospitalized, which is down 18 from Thursday; 193 on ventilators, which is down 2 from Thursday; with 53 deaths added today, for a total of 4,549. There has been a total of 281,382 cases; with 207,838 recoveries.

In addition, 10,531 PCR tests have been administered, along with 6,059 antigen tests.
