Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS girls starting 5-game home stand

High school basketball makes up the local Friday, as the Mountain Home girls will take on Alma to begin a five-game home stand. The Bomber boys were originally scheduled to play the Airedales as well, but that game has been postponed.
Mountain Home is 2-15 on the season and 1-5 in the 5A-West after suffering an eight-point loss on Tuesday. Alma is 6-10 and 0-6 after getting routed at Siloam Springs on Thursday. The Lady Bombers opened conference play on Jan. 5 by defeating the Lady Airedales 34-25.
Tip-off at Bomber Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Also in the 5A-West, Greenbrier travels to Greenwood, Vilonia makes the trip to Siloam Springs, and Russellville hosts Van Buren.

Gainesville’s boys will compete in the semifinals of the Sparta Trojan Invitational Tournament. The Bulldogs will meet Forsyth at 8:30.

The Dora girls will return to Mansfield to compete on the consolation side of the Lady Lion Invitational Tournament. The Lady Falcons take on Cassville at 7:30.

Elsewhere, Norfork heads to Fox to take on Rural Special, Flippin entertains Mammoth Spring for three boys’ games, Bakersfield’s boys travel to Thayer, Viola is home against Izard County, Salem hosts Tuckerman for three boys’ games, Mammoth Spring entertains Melbourne for three girls’ contests, Marshall is home against St. Joseph, Timbo hosts Shirley, Lead Hill entertains Kingston, Bergman makes the trip to Valley Springs, Omaha heads to Deer, and Jasper travels to Mount Judea.
