Tuesday basketball results include MHCA sweeping Rolla

Mountain Home Christian Academy went to Mansfield on Tuesday and swept three basketball games over Rolla.
The Eagles took the varsity boys’ game 57-44 over the Royals. Mountain Home Christian was led by Jordan Woods with 18 points, and Gideon Spray chipped in 15.
Mountain Home Christian nearly doubled up Rolla in the varsity girls’ contest with a 56-29 decision. Caroline Robinson was the Lady Eagles’ top scorer with 16 points, Naomi Spray had 12, and Hayley Woods finished with 10.
The evening started with the 14-and-under boys’ game, as Mountain Home Christian beat Rolla 48-37. Gabe Spray paced the 14-and-under Eagles with 30 points.

Norfork was able to grab the win over the third-ranked girls’ team in Class 1A. The Lady Panthers topped Viola by a final of 45-35.

Flippin ended up splitting its high school games with Yellville-Summit.
The Bobcats won the boys’ game over the Panthers 59-25. Flippin was led by Paul Hart with 19 points, and Dale Smyser provided 18.
Flippin did not fare as well in the girls’ contest losing to Yellville-Summit 58-37. Abby Methvin was the Lady Panthers’ leading scorer with 13 points, and Kambree Gibson and Kinley Morris added 11 each.

Ozark Mountain’s girls had a rough outing on the road. The Lady Bears fell to Valley Springs by a score of 81-49.

The momentum continues for the Gainesville boys after winning the Sparta Trojan Invitational Tournament. The Bulldogs went on the road and beat Seymour 50-34.

Izard County picked up three wins on Senior Night hosting Rural Special for four games.
The Cougars defeated the Rebels 41-24 in the senior boys’ game, giving head coach Kyle McCandlis his 100th conference win in eight seasons. Zach Simmons led Izard County with 11 points. The Cougars, ranked fourth in Class 1A by the Arkansas Sports Media, improve to 21-5 on the season and 13-3 in the 1A-2.
Izard County’s only loss was in the senior girls’ contest, as they took on the fifth-ranked team in Class 1A. The Lady Cougars came up short falling to Rural Special 26-21.
Izard County’s junior girls clinched the 1A-2 conference title with a 44-13 victory over Rural Special. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Quinn Johnson with 30 points. Izard County’s league record ended up at 8-0.
The Izard County junior boys clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 1A-2 District Tournament by topping Rural Special 44-35. Jude Everett was the Junior Cougars’ top scorer with 20 points, and Noah Mosley added 10. Izard County was able to stay alive for a possible share of the conference title, depending on the outcome of Friday’s game between Norfork and Concord.

It was a tough night for Mammoth Spring’s boys in Jonesboro losing to Ridgefield Christian 58-45. Cole Young paced the Bears with 18 points, and Aidan Burns and Zack Flynn chipped in 10 each. Mammoth Spring is now 17-9 overall and 7-3 in the 1A-3.

The Melbourne High School teams had a successful Senior Night, as they swept Sloan-Hendrix. The Lady Bearkatz invoked the mercy rule routing the Lady Greyhounds 72-18. Melbourne also breezed past Sloan-Hendrix 69-43 in the boys’ game.

Marshall’s girls were able to notch another win on their home floor. The Lady Bobcats topped South Side-Bee Branch 48-38.

Mountain View’s high school teams had mixed results on Senior Night, as they took on Harding Academy. The Lady Yellowjackets pounded the Lady Wildcats 51-30. The boys’ game had a different result, as Mountain View fell to Harding Academy 56-44.

Lead Hill came away with one win hosting Jasper for three games.
The Tigers’ lone victory was in the senior boys’ game, as they beat the Pirates 69-59. Lead Hill was led by T.J. Catron and Cody Paul with 14 points each, Pierce Marshall scored 12, and Will Mancinelli ended up with 10. For Jasper, Sam Parker had 20 points, Calvin Smith provided 14, and Hutson Davidson finished with 14.
Lead Hill was not as fortunate in the senior girls’ contest losing to Jasper 59-42. Kelsey Rogers was the Lady Tigers’ leading scorer with 22 points, and Lily Norman added 14.
The junior boys’ game began the evening with Lead Hill falling to Jasper 31-25. Nolan Turner led the Junior Tigers with 10 points. Spencer Traywick had 12 points for the Junior Pirates, and Sawyer Willis chipped in 10.

The Bergman High School teams were able to pick up a sweep at Green Forest.
The Panthers won the boys’ game over the Tigers 69-56. Twenty-seven of Walker Patton’s 28 points came from behind the arc, Elijah Royce scored 23, and Asher Fultz finished with 10. The Panthers now stand at 23-4 on the year and 9-0 in the 3A-1.
Bergman was able to put the mercy rule in effect in the girls’ contest. The Lady Panthers destroyed Green Forest 66-27.

Omaha’s boys had a rough night in front of the home crowd, as they lost to Kingston 50-43. The Eagles were led by Kaden Lee with 12 points, and Ezra Hayes ended up with 11.
