Saturday basketball schedule includes end of district tournament play in Arkansas

High school basketball makes up the local Saturday schedule, as district tournament play ends for most area teams.

Two local girls’ teams will play for the championship of the 2A-1 District Tournament. Cotter will host Flippin for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Ozark Mountain’s girls will be on the road to compete for the title of the 1A-1 East District Tournament. The Lady Bears travel to Kingston with the tip-off set for 5:30.

The Viola boys will be in Greers Ferry for the final of the 1A-2 District Tournament. The Longhorns will be paired with West Side at 6 p.m.

Both championship games of the 2A-2 District Tournament will be held at Melbourne. Salem’s girls will face the host Lady Bearkatz at 3, and the Melbourne boys will take on White County Central at 6.

Mammoth Spring’s boys will be in Jonesboro for the title game of the 1A-3 District Tournament. The Bears will be matched up with Ridgefield Christian at 6:30.

The Mountain View girls will be in front of the home crowd for the final of the 3A-2 District Tournament. The Lady Yellowjackets entertain Rose Bud at 6.

Both of Bergman’s teams will host Valley Springs at the Panther Palace for the championship games of the 3A-1 District Tournament. Action tips off at 5:30 with the girls’ game.

District play begins for the larger schools in Missouri, and two area girls’ teams will start the Class 4, District 11 Tournament. Forsyth is home against Mountain View-Liberty, and Ava hosts Springfield Catholic. Both games tip off at 3 p.m.
