Jacob Dale Langston of Mountain Home, who has a criminal history stretching back 16 years, returned to Baxter County Circuit Court last week.

The 34-year-old Langston pled guilty and was sentenced to six years in prison on charges of drug and drug paraphernalia possession, fleeing and violating parole.

Mountain Home police arrested him in early December last year after officers responded to a local fast food restaurant to investigate what had been reported as possible drug activity.

When an officer ran a computer check on Langston and his passenger, 40-year-old Ashley Wile, Langston bailed out of the vehicle and tried to run but was caught.

When the vehicle was searched, drug paraphernalia and a “large quantity” of suspected methamphetamine were found. Wile was also arrested and charged.

Wile’s case stemming from her arrest with Langston is still open, along with a number of other drug-related cases filed in 2019 and 2020.

Through the years, Langston has been charged in Baxter, Izard, Marion and Stone counties. Allegations against him have included sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault and drug-related offenses.

One of the major offenses on Langston’s record occurred in Izard County. He was convicted in April 2008 of beating and sexually assaulting an adult female.

In addition to prison time, Langston was required to register as a sex offender.

Since he has been registered, Langston has run into problems in Baxter, Marion and Stone counties with violating the terms and conditions of registration imposed on sex offenders.

A failure-to-register case filed in Stone County remains active, and court records show he is due to appear in that case March 16.

He is listed as a Tier 3 offender, meaning he is considered a high risk to reoffend.
