Calico Rock High School English teacher Tracy Hodges has been awarded two ACT Certified Educator badges from the American College Testing program. Hodges received badges in basic testing and English sub-testing sections.

ACT ACE is a training and credentialing program designed for instructing individuals in effective ACT education pedagogy. It recognizes those who reach high standards required for certification as professionals fully equipped to help students prepare to take the ACT test.

Hodges completed an 18-hour program relevant to the ACT English test. Her assessment included understanding the test structure and content; understanding and recommending test taking strategies related to the ACT English content; and providing individualized tutoring. By completing the training and passing the assessment, she has met the standards set forth by the ACT Certified Educator program and demonstrated sufficient knowledge to tutor students who are preparing for the ACT English test.

Hodges also completed a nine-hour program covering the fundamentals of the ACT test (including but not limited to administration, procedures, resources, test security, customer care, score reporting, interpretation and benchmarks).

Her certification is valid for two years and holds her to the standards of ACT related to the protection of ACT’s intellectual property. She is required to demonstrate the highest levels of ethical behavior and professionalism.

She expects to earn credentials in reading and science reasoning before ending the 2021 school year.
