A Marion County woman who kept law enforcement at bay for nearly one hour by hiding in her residence has been arrested. Fifty-three-year-old Jana Brigman of Flippin is facing multiple felony drug and weapon charges.
Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans says the 14th Judicial Drug Task Force received information March 2 that Brigman, a probation absconder, was living on Trailwood Terrace north of Flippin and was reportedly selling narcotics at the location.
When officers approached the fifth-wheel camper, they could hear someone running inside. No one answered the door, when officers knocked. A package located outside of the camper had one of Brigman’s aliases on the label.
After being on the scene for nearly one hour, entry was made into the camper, and Brigman came out of hiding and was taken into custody.
During a search of the camper, several items of drug paraphernalia were located including a white crystal-like substance, hydrocodone pills and a digital scale. Officers also found a 9mm handgun with the serial number removed.
Brigman is charged with felony counts of possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance (meth), with purpose to deliver; possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance (not meth), with purpose to deliver; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm; possession of a firearm by a certain person, meaning she is a convicted felon; possession of a defaced firearm; and an enhancement penalty for being a habitual offender. She also received a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.
Bond for Brigman is set at $75,000. Baxter County has placed hold placed on Brigman for a couple of circuit court revocation warrants.
